PROJECTS FOR KIDS

START EARLY We believe expertise starts early so The Saw Shop group was started to design, produce, and distribute useful projects for adults to do with young children. We call them “Start-ups for Kids”.  All the projects are designed to introduce kids to useful skills at an early age.

WE RECRUIT EVANGELISTSThe Start-ups give parents, teachers and mentors access to children’s projects designed by enthusiastic professionals from a wide range of disciplines. We have enlisted artists, craftsmen, athletes, chefs, gardeners, scientists, writers, and musicians to contribute to our site. The instructions are fun, simple, and will help you teach a skill that will last a lifetime.

START WITH TOOLSFor instance, our toolbox project (see BUILD) instructs parents, grandparents, teachers, and mentors how to introduce children to working with their hands while producing a beautiful and useful object. The toolbox kit is assembled with glue, screws and a screwdriver but when complete, can be outfitted with a variety of basic tools to use on future tasks.

FREE INSTRUCTIONS OR KITSInstructions can be downloaded as line drawings, slide show illustrations, or video podcasts. The projects kits can be assembled with simple hand tools under adult supervision.

SHARE KNOWLEDGEOur project designers are sharing their knowledge and experience and we encourage feed-back from our customers and friends (see SHARE) about our projects. We post photos of completed projects and encourage new ideas and design proposals for future offerings. As part of The Saw Shop community, you connect with people around the world who share your interest in early discovery with children.
